Cheramie+Bruce Architects, A Professional Corporation (corporate name changed in 2007) is a full service architectural firm, which was established in 1978 as a professional corporation in the state of Louisiana under the name Edmond A. Cheramie Architects, APC. In 1991, the name changed to Cheramie/Whitney Architects with the merger of Whitney & Associates, Ltd. (Thomas N. Whitney, AIA Deceased, 2002) and established its primary business locations in downtown Houma, Louisiana. Daniel M. Bruce, Jr. joined the firm in 1992 and became a principal in 2007.
Our dedicated staff, including two (2) licensed architects, one (1) intern architect, senior CADD operator and office manager takes pride in providing quality professional services to public and private clients throughout south Louisiana. We bring extensive experience in construction, new design and renovation projects of many different building types, including office, storage, elementary, secondary and higher education, vocational, museum, medical, assembly and library buildings throughout south Louisiana.
Our focus on design and project management includes cost and quality control during design, procurement of construction services and contract administration for a wide variety of projects. We endeavor to control project cost at each phase of design by performing computerized construction cost estimates and updates utilizing current market conditions and historical data.
Keeping abreast of the latest developments in architecture and construction, the firm and its licensed professionals maintain membership in the American Institute of Architects, International Building Code Congress, National Trust for Historic Preservation, National Council of Architecture Registration Boards and National Fire Protection Association.
